RP Lexicon
Whether you are experienced or new to RP, you can join in on the lingo that is used in city to refer to IRL situations and words. As Dreamstage RP aims to be a serious RP server, we urge our players to not use any words to refer to IRL or technical things while in city. Here you'll find a list on words and example of phrases to use instead!
Words to use in your day-to-day IC life
"Bodycam"
Refers to when a player is streaming or recording while in city.
"City"
Can be used when refering to the server.
"Civilians"
Is the word used for players or players that are not on duty in their job and/or active in their criminal groups.
"Ears"
Refers to the player's headset/speakers.
"Eyes"
Refers to the player's screen.
"Flex [insert button] muscle"
Is used to explain which buttons to press in different situations.
"Flying in"
Is used when connecting to the server, usually used when connecting for the first time. "Waking up" is also a term used for this.
"Flying out"
Is used when disconnecting from the server. "Taking a nap" is also a term used to refer when a player is disconnecting.
"Government"
Is the most common term used when refering to Admins and Staff. Sometimes the word "Aliens" would refer to the same.
"Locals"
Refers to the NPC (non-player characters) in the city.
"Pockets"
Refers to a player's inventory.
"Storm"
Is used when refering to the occationally server re-boot and/or shut down.
"Think about"
Is used when toggle the text menue while in city (T - key).
"Voicebox"
Refers to the player's microphone.
"Wizard"
Refers to a hacker or the doing of one.
Phrases to use
Lag or Disconnect
- "I have a headache going on."
- "I had to nap for a bit, due to migraine/major headache"
Leaving or Log out
- "I'm going back to my house/apartment for the night."
- "I'm going to check into a motel for the night." (if you have no home)
- "Time for me to find a nice park bench for the night."
Referring to Discord
- "I'm just going to check my e-mails *takes out phone*."
- "Check your Discordia app."
Going AFK
- "I am going to google something on my phone *takes out phone*."
- "Sorry, I spaced out for a bit."
(However, we promote players to RP themselves out of a situation where they have to go AFK)
Referring to Staff
- "I need to let Goverment know about this."
- "I think this is a doing by the Ailiens."
Server shut down
- "I heard there will be a storm passing by in some minutes."
- "The storm blew/washed away my car." (if your vehacle is not found were you left it after storm)
- "A sudden storm hit the city!"
